Snoring is the sound of a person’s breathing while sleeping. Although it affects a majority of men, many women also snore. Very disturbing for partners and entire families, it can be an indicator of obstructive sleep apnea.
When we sleep, our tongue and the tissues at the back of the throat relax. In some people with a particular anatomy of the mouth, these tissues partially block the air and vibrate during the passage of air. This causes snoring.
Some conditions may cause or amplify snoring:
- Being overweight
- Large tonsils
- Respiratory tract infections
Nasal cones and oral appliances are proven solutions for treating snoring problems and stopping snoring. An assessment of your state of health and an in-depth review will help us determine the treatment that is right for you.
